The PDF Do app (Windows)
- Your files stay on your computer. PDF Do opens, edits, converts, OCRs and protects documents entirely on your device. Documents are never uploaded, and the app has no account, sign-in or cloud feature.
- No tracking. The app contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising or crash reporting, and it does not collect personal information.
- Data saved on your device. To work properly the app stores your settings, the list of recent files, fonts you add, and recovery copies of unsaved work in a private folder under your user profile (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFDo). You can delete this folder at any time, or choose to remove it when you uninstall.
- Local conversion service. For PDF-to-Word conversion the app starts a helper program that listens only on your own computer (127.0.0.1) on a random port and requires a secret token. It cannot be reached from the network and it is stopped when you close the app.
- Links. If you click the Support button or a link in the app, your web browser opens that page. That visit is then covered by the other site's privacy policy.
The PDF Do website
- The website is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may record technical data about visitors (such as IP address) under its own privacy statement.
- The site may show advertising supplied by a third-party ad network. These providers may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads. We do not receive your personal information from them.
- The tutorial video is embedded from YouTube using the privacy-enhanced mode; YouTube may set cookies once you play it.
- The website has no sign-in, forms or analytics of its own.
Children
PDF Do does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
